Application of molecular methods in forensic analyses of wild animals

In European countries, hunting of wildlife is regulated by various directives. However, illegal activities are becoming more common. To deal with crime cases, it becomes necessary to select the best molecular markers for analysis animal sex, species, and relationships identification. This study investigated potential within chromosomal mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) forensics. By applying targeting nuclear (the cytochrome b gene, hypervariable displacement loop (D-Loop) region, SRY AMEL genes), suspected cases were solved identification wild species sex. Currently, forensic techniques before conclusions its validation in investigations.
